My Life/My Music features in the Paisley Daily Express!
Our new community project My Life/My Music got off to a brilliant start last week with a performance in the Lagoon Paisley. We took part in SOOPIR day (Strengthening Opportunities for Older People in Renfrewshire) and the event was enjoyed immensely by all those who took part.
We were delighted by some local press interest, as the community came together to celebrate the lives of older adults in Renfrewshire.
My Life in Music used information and story-gathering to connect with residents and inspire the performance pieces, as the sharing of memories became the basis for the final performance. Poems, music and scripted pieces were performed, as participants and audiences alike celebrate past experiences and positive futures.
We even had some dancing audience members and a wee sing-along to round things off!
An extended performance of My Life/My Music will take place in conjunction with Castlehead High School Students this Thursday 29th October at 7pm.
We are very much looking forward to it!
